Keith is the driving force behind Built by Wave, bringing nearly two decades of experience, dedication, and craftsmanship to every project. His journey in the construction industry began in 2005, where he started as a young, ambitious builder with a passion for transforming ideas into reality. Over the years, Keith honed his skills, mastering everything from foundational work to intricate finishes, while developing a reputation for integrity, hard work, and a keen eye for detail.
Q: Why did you choose to work in this industry?
Keith:
I’ve always loved working with my hands and seeing something come to life from the ground up. There’s something deeply satisfying about building something real and lasting — something that becomes a part of someone’s everyday life. I started in construction back in 2005, and I’ve never looked back. Every project teaches me something new.

Q: What sets you apart as a builder?
Keith:
I treat every project like it’s my own home. I show up, I communicate clearly, and I make sure the job is done right. No shortcuts, no surprises. I also like to bring a creative eye to what I do — I enjoy solving problems and finding ways to make a space more functional and beautiful at the same time.

Q: What kind of projects do you enjoy most?
Keith:
I love working on custom builds and renovations where I can really collaborate with the client. When someone has a vision and trusts me to bring it to life — that’s the sweet spot. I also have a soft spot for outdoor living spaces. There’s just something about creating a place where people can gather, relax, and enjoy their home even more.
⸻
Q: What’s your approach with clients?
Keith:
Keep it honest and straightforward. I make sure clients know what to expect and when. I take pride in being reliable — showing up on time, staying on schedule, and keeping the site clean. I want people to feel confident and at ease throughout the whole process.

Q: What’s something people might not know about you?
Keith:
I’m a family man first. Everything I build is rooted in providing for my family and creating a good life for them. That’s what keeps me grounded and motivated. I also believe in doing work that holds up — not just physically, but energetically. A home should feel good when you walk into it.
Jim began his journey in construction at just 15 years old, rough framing custom homes across Michigan. With decades of hands-on experience, his passion for building runs deep. After the 2008 housing market crash, Jim shifted into remodeling, expanding his skill set and resilience in the trade.
As the economy rebounded, he launched Frame Right LLC, successfully leading two framing crews and bringing quality craftsmanship to countless homes. In 2012, Jim made the heartfelt decision to pause and focus on family, eventually returning to the industry with renewed purpose.
Today, Jim pours his love for building into every project—whether it’s framing a new home or transforming a space through thoughtful renovation. His favorite work? Anything that brings a home to life.
